This is from the discussion we had almost 2 years ago (This being finalized in 2005) about our "perfect Combo organ". I suggested that we mught submit drawings. To that end, I created some graphics using the keyboard from Vintage Keys logo. In fact this is why I created the graphics. The 'Elka SuperCharger" was a practice run for this. I also created in that discussion the "Laser Duo". These were pretty much "Died and Went to Heaven" instruments.

It also needs to be said that the first instrument was created with reference to the '65-8 timeframe with that technology in mind, meaning the old Germanium transister as the main engine. the second uses as its technological timeframe the '69-75 period. This last saw the Silicon and FET (field Effect Transistor), as shown by the addition of the Clarinet which is a squarewave typically used to brighten up the sounds on Farfisa and Yamaha combo organs, and early Integrated Circuit instrument technology, as shown by the addition of synthesizer modules and ensembling/chorus effects.

The organ was desinged to meet the standards of the 3 basic styles of play; dynamic voicing where the left hand is used to run the control section as the right hand plays the music, static voicing piano where the left hand plays bass as with Ray Manzarek and static voicing organ where the left hand plays chords or chords with a bass note superimposed. to meet these ends, all the controls are to the left on an angled "desk" control board.

Logically, the instrument is "blocked off" into 4 sections Chards, Bass, Effetcs and Osrgan/percussion.

CHORDS: 16', 8',5-1/3', 4' and 2-2/3', Volume and Tone
SELECTOR; selects Chords, Bass/chords and bass; in Chord mode the bass is assigned to the 25-note pedalboard
BASS: Tone; soft/sharp, Perc on/off, Perc short/long, Fuzz, Wah Volume. Low note priorty in Bass/Chord mode, duophonic in Bass mode.

EFFECTS Vibrato on/off Depth light/heavy Speed slow/fast, Reverb, note bend up/down (works only on the organ). ROTATING SPEAKER: On/off, Stereo/Mono, Cab seletc; selects the Rotor/Baffle, EQ and Resonance effect based on the Speaker Cabinet being simulated. Effects work on only Chords and Organ/Percussion.

ORGAN: Organ Volume. Footage Drawbars: 16', 8' 5-1/3', 4' Mix I; 2-2/3', 1-3/5', 1-1/3, Mix II; 2', 1', Voice Drawbars; Flute, String, Trumpet, Vox Reed.
PERCUSSION: On/off, Select 16', 8', 5-1/3', 4', Mix I, Mix II, Drawbars (works on the whole current sound like a Farfisa), Decay/Rate Select: short/slow, Med, Long/Fast, Repeat "strumming" effect and sets the Decay/Rate Selector to Rate, Volume

KEYBOARD: 2/5 hard split;
LEFT: Bass and Chord; in chord mode the KB=C1-C3

INPUTS: 13-note/25-note Bassboard, Rotating Speaker: Slow/fast, Brake. Pitch pedal Epxression pedlal
OUTPUTS: Bass/Chords, Effects loop (tip and ring) Organ out Momo (tip)/ Stereo (tip and ring)

This started with the LaserCombo and added three new sections.
The only changes to the ORGAN section are: the color of the BASS Wah tab, The movement of Bas/Chord to the lower keyboard at the far left and the addition of a square wave voice drawbar. The defining aspect of the Duo is that three new sections were added 1. STRINGS/ENSEMBLE,, 2 BRARSS/SYNTHESIZEDRF and 3 KEYBOARDS. and a KB Assign/Master Mixer over on the far right. This is sort of like taking the basic instrument and strapping on a Moog Opus 3 and Sequential Circuits Prelude


STRINGS/ENSEMBLE: Cello, Viola, Violin, Attack, Release, Filter Mode Select; Highpass, Bandpass, Lowpass, Cutoff Frequency, Resonance, LFO/Modulation; Off, LFO, Leslie, Ensemble; off, On Waveform Mix Sawtooth to Square. the Ensmbler is Modified to have a higher rate and lower depth as the note frequency goes up.

BRASS/SYNTHESIZER: 16', 8' and 4' sliders, Waveform Mix Sawtooth to Square, 3-position Mod switch; off-LFO-Leslie Cutoff Frequency, Resonance, Attack, Decay Sistain, KB Filter Track; 1/2, 2/3, Full, Noise/Waveforms switch, Final Decay, Filter Mod Switch; LFOPedal, LFO; Rate, Depth, Chorus Rate and Depth; Small Med Large Chorus on/off

KEYBOARDS: KB's to Leslie
PIANO: Trmolo Depth, Tremolo Rate, Piano on/off tab, Detune
HARPSICHORDS: 1 and 2 an octave apart
CLAV: Filter Select; from none to "Ribbit", 3-position Wah control swtiches Depth and Envelope, effects labelled Small, Med, Large. Clav on/off and Wah on/off.

Assign: Off, Upper, Lower, Both, Stereo, Volume, Detune (deuntes each setion by a few cents up or down relative to Bass/Chords. Using the separart outputs for each sections defeats Strereo and Volume, turning control of these functions over to the external mixer.

INPUTS and OUTPUTS are pretty much the same as LaserCombo but for the following, Filter pedlal input, Sustain Pedal input, Trigger switch; single/multiple
OUTPUTS: Bass/Chords, Master Mix L and R (in case you are hard up for mixer channels) STRINGS/ENSEMBLE, BRASS/SYNTHESIZER, ORGAN/PERCUSSION, KEYBORDS (use of each output takes that section out of the Master Mix Volume and Stereo line)
